General dental patients will have all areas of their mouths thoroughly examined during their first visit. This process will include a detailed examination of the teeth, soft tissue, supporting structure alignment, bite and more. A complete set of X-rays may be needed along with models of your teeth. All the information that we obtain will be carefully evaluated so that we may accurately assess your dental needs.
After your examination, you will be ready for a preventive oral hygiene session. At this time, you will have access to the latest theories and techniques for controlling dental disease.
Specific approaches will be recommended for your individual needs. Your teeth will also be cleaned by our licensed dental hygienist, a professional dedicated to making your natural dentition last for as long as possible. We consider this dental hygiene session to be one of the most valuable services we offer to our patients.

Your first visit includes a thorough exam, a cleaning and a clear treatment plan. Your dentist checks your teeth, gums, soft tissues, bite and jaw, and X-rays are taken if needed. Our licensed dental hygienist then cleans your teeth and shares tips for your home care. Finally, your dentist explains what they found and any treatment they recommend.
New patients can take advantage of our $89 new patient cleaning special. When you call to book, let us know you're a new patient, and our team will explain what your visit includes based on your needs. If you have PPO dental insurance, bring your card so we can check your benefits and submit the claim for you.
Bring a photo ID, your dental insurance card if you have one, a list of your medications and any recent dental X-rays or records from a previous dentist. If you have health conditions, allergies or concerns about dental treatment, write them down so you don't forget to mention them. Arriving a few minutes early gives you time to complete any forms.
Yes, please bring your insurance card and photo ID to your first visit. We work with PPO dental insurance plans, plus PPO Delta Dental Medicare and Humana Medicare for Medicare dental coverage. Yes. We see children ages 8 and up as well as adults, so families can schedule visits at the same office. Let us know your child's age when you book so we can plan the appointment. We see children ages 8 and up.
Just give us at least 24 hours' notice by phone or email, and we'll find you a new time. Missed appointments without notice are charged a $50 fee, so a quick call to (305) 217-6453 or a note to hello@drgdentalstudio.com saves you that cost. Our Tuesday evening and Saturday hours can make it easier to rebook around work or school.

Yes. Plaque and tartar can build up and gum disease can start without pain, so feeling fine does not always mean your teeth and gums are healthy. Regular cleanings remove buildup you cannot brush away and let Dr. Gonzalez catch small problems early, when they are simpler to treat. A new patient cleaning at Dr G Dental Studio is $89.
A professional cleaning removes hardened tartar that brushing and flossing cannot. The instruments are designed for teeth, and when used by a trained team they do not damage healthy enamel. Your teeth may feel smoother and look brighter afterward. If you have worn enamel or sensitive spots, tell us before we start so we can adjust and keep you comfortable.
Mild sensitivity for a day or two after a cleaning can happen, especially if tartar was removed near the gumline or your gums were inflamed. It usually fades on its own. A sensitivity toothpaste and avoiding very hot or cold foods can help. If sensitivity is strong or lasts more than a few days, call (305) 217-6453 so Dr. Gonzalez can check it.
